Information regarding the traffic flow trial at Penhellaz Hill, Helston

Cornwall Council has notified the College that it is conducting a six week trial to gauge the impact on traffic and the surrounding area by preventing motorists from making certain manoeuvres at the Penhellaz Hill junction where it joins onto the A394. The trial is scheduled to run from 14th June through to 26th July 2017, and will end before the August holiday period begins.The restrictions will consist of: 1. The photographs show the range of items produced and the quality is a testament to their hard work and determination. Of particular note was Jowan's 'bamboo bike'. Bloodhound Regional Winners at RAF St Mawgan!

On Thursday, Mr Hitchcock took a number of our Year 9 students to the regional final of the Bloodhound competition at RAF St. Mawgan. The College entered four teams and three of those teams achieved 1st, 2nd and 4th place in the secondary school category, with 1st and 2nd split by a mere 0.04 seconds! Emily, Jenny and Rachel, our first-placed team, have now reached the National Final which will be held in June at the Santapod Raceway in Bedfordshire. RNAS Culdrose Bloodhound Hub Competition

A number of our Year 9 students entered the RNAS Culdrose Bloodhound competition this week, and won the secondary school category with a rocket car named Pink Storm MH. Its fastest speed was measured at 44.297 mph. This result means the team have reached the County Final. Winners of the Cornwall Final will go through to the National competition, with a £1000 prize and a trip to South Africa for the overall winners, where they can witness the record-breaking attempt by the full sized Bloodhound SSC.
